Great service in a beautiful setting overlooking the ranges. A bar and a good sized function room available. Worth checking out for your function.
Forest Edge is in Gembrook about 90 minutes from Melbournes city centre but closer if you live in the east. Its not far from Puffing Billy. The restaurant is set in from the road but you wont miss it because there is a prominent sign on the side of the road. On Sundays there is an addition sign promoting their wood fired pizzas. There is on-site parking.The restaurant is large and can also cater for functions. There is outdoor seating which is great in warm weather as you can enjoy the view while you have your meal and/or drinks. The property grounds are well kept and nicely decorated. We had the BBQ Pork, Salami and Prawn pizzas. All were very nice and had a thin, crispy base. If you are not local and dont mind the drive there, it can be a nice place to spend a Sunday afternoon.
View is spectacular.Food is ok. Manager / hostess (or lady with dark hair and glasses) needs to go back to school and learn how to communicate with customers in a friendly and non-threatening manner.After waiting more than an hour between serving 2 or our 8 adults their mains and forgetting one of the mains altogether we were told it was our fault for staggering our order and not knowing that the whole menu is meant to be shared. Although this is not made clear on the website or when ordering - I think it was just an excuse.The manager lady gave us attitude and deflected the blame. When I said its not the young girls fault who took our order...(giving her an opportunity to say ..., yes youre right, management should have helped her)..... the response was well whos fault is it?.... zero care for the customer and taking ownership of a problem that was 100% their fault.In the end we were offered a very thoughtful gesture for the less than ideal experience for an important birthday we were there celebrating.Such a shame cause its a beautiful place.
Very nice. Fantastic Pizzas. That's what they do. Apart from hosting Weddings. We will be back for sure.
Fantastic wedding venue great food drinks and service. Extremely helpful nothing was a problem. Also good to drop in for a pizza on Sunday afternoon and listen to the live music if you are in the gembrook area.
